noticing how well the memorable lines thread has done(compared to the overall board) i have taken it upon myself to develop another branch of it(considering that we're running out of lines). this one's a little different, basically we take a character from a tv show/movie/video game/book that's memorable and say who it is. i'll start this out...
Woody off of Cheers. -I loved the whole hillbilly from Indiana thing. finally! a hillbilly that's not from Kentucky!

Definitely Dan from "Roseanne." -Was a shining star in a garbage dump. The rest of the show sucked, but he stuck out and made it three times better.

Napoleon Dynamite from "Napoleon Dynamite"
-Whats not to love? He's the guy that makes the nerdyness look cool. He can take a frustrated attitude and make it fun. Plus he has some great memorable one liners. It may be a fad now, but it doesn't seem to be dying out too fast. And thats all I have to say...GOSH!

Pikachu-Pokemon.
Sure, I may not like the show or even Pikachu himself, but the topic is Characters we Remember. You could ask any kid you know right now who Pikachu is and they'd go like "the little yellow thing from that gay ass show." That's how memorable he is.

Joker from "Batman"
Definitely a memorable character for me. Although, I think we'll find that there's gonna be a lot of Jack Nicholson in this thread.

Gollum from "Lord of the Rings" (Take your pick: movie or book)
I don't think there's a doubt in anyone's mind that this guy is memorable. From the first moment you see those eyes to the first moment you hear that voice. His character with it's multiple personalities, was a very interesting character, which makes for a memorable character. Gollum inspired many other little tiny things with weird voices that act weird. *coughDobbycough*

Hagrid from "Harry Potter"
Who couldn't love this giant drunken scotsman? He has that beard and it's curly. ;D
Yeah, Hagrid's definitely awesome.

Sean Connery from "Saturday Night Live: Celebrity Jeopardy"
Is there a single person out there that can say that they can't or haven't heard an impersonation from one of those many skits? Without a doubt the best part of SNL for those years.

Homer from "The Simpsons"
When I talk of the Oddessy I tend to mention that it was written by Homer. Automatically, the person I am talking to says "from the Simpsons?". There is not one character more memorable. You can love him, or you can hate him. Whether you do or not, you know who he is, you know what he's from, and you know that everytime you bite into a donut, you will say to yourself "mmm...sprinkles".

Bart from "The Simpsons"
While his father is very popular, Bart might just be that much more famous. Lord only know show many phrased were started by this kid. Not to mention he caused many to take up skateboarding and class clowning. He was the bad boy that you had to love. "Eat my shorts."

Darth Vader of "Star Wars"
You know that the breathing thing still creeps you out. It shows more evil than you can imagine. You don't get more badass than this galactic lord. What with Star Wars 3 coming out, it shows that Vader is still as popular as ever. He is still one of the greatest cinamatic villians of all time.

-Silent Bob from "New Jersey Series"
Silent Bob has to be the most memorable non-speaking character in the world. This guy is awesome and everybody loves him. When people think of Jay and Silent Bob they go Jay's a jackass that never shuts up, but Silent Bob is awesome. That's what makes this guy memorable.

beetlejuice from "Beetlejuice"
i thought that michael keeton did a great job in this role. he really stole the show from baldwin and davis. although everyone in the movie acted brilliantly, making a bad movie a good one, keeton stood out from the rest, making it hard to miss whenever beetlejuice was on screen.

Mulder from "The X-Files"
Everyone has heard of the X-Files whether you know what it's about or not, and everyone who does knows the name "Fox Mulder". The guy who keeps believing is the guy we keep loving. When he died (on the show), we knew that it would never be the same again. Spooky Mulder takes the supernatural cake.
