I will now tell you my 15 favorite movies of all time. If anyone else wants to do this (with any number, doesnt have to be 15) they can. They each include why I like the movie, but you don't have to type why you do, but I am.
Personally, I had a criteria for mine so that it would be fair.
1. This movie cannot be in theaters.
2. I have to have seen it more than once (the one I have watched the least out of these is 3 times)
3. I have to own this movie (which knocks out few other favorites of mine)
The following are in no particular order.
1. The Godfather- 1972- Directed by Francis Ford Coppola- I know its not original to have this be someone's favorite movie of all time, but that must show how great this flick is, right? THe storyline and twists are excellent, Marlon Brando plays a great performance, and people die. Great dialogue too.
2. The Wall- 1982- Directed by Alan Parker- Even though people think it's just a bunch of images, there is actually a storyline to follow that is artisticly told through symbolism mostly, which is original, and i like it. Being a music fan as well, the songs are great, which always helps the movie.
3. Dazed and Confused- 1993- Richard Linklater- The thing that made me watch this movie in the first place was it took place on my birthday, May 28th. When I saw it, it showed the coolness of the 70s, had an awesome soundtrack, and kept me laughing with its array of classic quotes.
4. Monty Python and the Holy Grail-1975- Terry Jones- Even more quotable than Dazed and Confused, this is on every nerd's top 10 movies list, and I can see why. That's why it's on mine. I could say a million reasons, but bottom line: silly humor = happy me.
5. The Breakfast Club-1985-John Hughes- I'm a sucker for teen comedies. But what makes this great is it can be funny, then serious, and everyone is still happy with it. This movie could have been made iwth a home video camera, a bunch of people who'd have done it for next to nothing (not including judd nelsons excellent performance), and permission from a local school, and it would still be great. It shos that big budgets don't always mean great movies.
6. Blazing Saddles-1974-Mel Brooks- I love it when I can sit down and watch a movie I've seen tons of times, but each viewing find something new. If you don't find this movie funny, you have wocks in yaw cwanium.
7. The Rocky Horror Picture Show-1975-Richard O'Brian- Although the point of viewing this movie is to make fun of it, I still find it's catchy tunes and intentional horrible acting quite entertaining. Plus Tim Curry has the coolest Britsh accent ever.
I'm sick of typing, so I'll finish this later.
