Welcome to JAG's Realm. We hope you enjoy your stay here. Before posting, please read these guidelines we have set up in order to make the board run smoothly.
Guidelines:
Note: This is NOT a board devoted to the T.V. show "JAG." Please be sure you understand that before you post here. There's a reason we want you to read this post first.
1. You must be a member to post. Though Guests can view all boards, they cannot post on any of them.
2. We do not believe in censorship. We do believe, however, in common sense and courtesy toward other people. Therefore, posts deemed by the moderators to contain excessive and unnecessary vulgar language, or which are blatant flames/insults toward other members with no attempt at a well-contstructed argument will be deleted and the poster warned. Continued abuse will result in the member being banned. Please know that what we allow is actually very broad; we do not intend to be dictators. But also know that we do not allow everything.
3. We will not tolerate pornography of any kind on this board. Not out of a desire for censorship, but because many of our members are underage and even those of legal age may not wish to see it. Also, Proboards has its own policies regarding pornography that we must respect. There are millions of other places on the Internet you can go to view or post porn. This is not one of them. Any member posting pornography will immediately be banned. Sorry, but on this subject we won't be lenient.
4. Members who join for the sole purpose of posting advertisements will be banned and their post deleted. We have a board specifically for advertisements or links to pages that members would like to share with the board. However, we greatly dislike wracking up "members" who have no intention of being members and only come to post one ad and leave, never to be seen again. You may think that such people wouldn't care if they were banned. Their post, however, will also be deleted probably before anyone can see it. There are five moderators on this board and there's almost always at least one on at any given time of the day. Thus, the effort to register and post an ad will be for nothing because it will get deleted immediately. Do not post an ad unless you're planning to stick around. It's probably better not to post an ad as your first post, either, lest you're mistaken for one of these "hit-and-run" posters.
5. Not all links need to be put on the Advertisements board. It is perfectly fine to post links to sites or news articles on the General board for the purpose of discussion on this board. We encourage that. Just please know the difference between an advertisement and a link posted for the purpose of discussion.
6. We would appreciate it if you would take a few moments to introduce yourself on the "New Members" board. This is not a rule that you have to follow, but it would be nice.
7. Feel free to post about anything you want. We have several boards covering a wide variety of topics, though this is by no means a limit on what you can talk about. You can talk about any subject you want on the "General Board," and if you have an idea for a new board, you are more than welcome to ask about it on the "Q & A" board, or by PMing or e-mailing either Ahryantah or JAGuar. We will put your suggestion up for a vote on the "Member's Forum," and if there is enough interest we will create the new board.
8. Stemming from that, please try to keep topics on their appropriate boards. On the General board anything goes, but please keep writing discussions to the writing boards, music discussions to the music board, etc. It's not a big deal to make a mistake and post to the wrong board, but repeated failure to post topics on the right board will result in a warning.
