JAG, I need from you a list of fantasy and science fiction books you've read. All of them. Preferably with authors. Go.

Have you read Tad Williams or David Eddings? They write epic fantasy kind of on par with Tolkien.

No, I haven't read them. And if they write like Tolkien, I don't think I want to read them, either. I don't like how Tolkien goes off track all the time to put a million side stories into the main one. The songs alone are enough to want me to rip the book in half.

No, I didn't mean they write in Tolkien's style. I meant they write stories with similar plots to Tolkien - like epic save-the-world stuff. I was just distinguishing them from science fiction or other types of fantasy by comparing them to someone you've already read.

Yeah, that sounds cool then. Because those are basically the only books I read. Except for maybe Harry Potter, but that could be arguable.

Not that it matters. The series isn't written in chronological order, anyway. It might make more sense to read them backwards.
